Opened in April 2025 as a central project of the Tenjin Big Bang redevelopment, the building stands 19 stories above ground with 4 basement levels.
The facility integrates a wide range of functions, including over 120 retail shops, restaurants, offices, conference halls, open public spaces, and the high-end ONE FUKUOKA HOTEL occupying the top floors.
Directly connected to Tenjin Station, the building serves as a new landmark, aiming to revitalize the area by blending business, culture, and leisure for both locals and visitors.
Challenge
◾ONE FUKUOKA BLDG. encountered key operational challenges as a major urban commercial complex and flagship of the Tenjin Big Bang redevelopment.
◾Beyond attracting high visitor numbers, the facility needed to objectively demonstrate its contribution to the surrounding area, including public spaces and pedestrian networks.
◾There was also a need to provide objective data to stakeholders and local authorities to validate the facility’s impact on the broader Tenjin district.
The Solution
◾To address these challenges, over 100 sensors were strategically installed throughout the commercial floors, covering all major entrances and key pedestrian routes.
◾The system collects real-time visitor data via a cloud platform, enabling comprehensive visualization and analysis of visitor traffic patterns.
◾This solution was selected for its proven accuracy, stability, and robust support, as demonstrated in other facilities managed by Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd.
The Result
◾The availability of accurate, real-time data enabled the management to quickly release visitor statistics to the public and media, generating significant publicity and further boosting foot traffic.
◾Additionally, the system provided objective evidence of the building’s positive impact on the Tenjin area, supporting both internal reporting and external economic analyses.
◾The success of the solution has laid the foundation for future strategic use of visitor data in marketing, leasing, and community engagement, reinforcing ONE FUKUOKA BLDG.’s role as a catalyst for urban revitalization.
