◾Mori Park is a large, multifaceted area featuring a regional shopping center Mori Town, an outdoor mall Mori Park Outdoor Village, and additional facilities like a park and hotel.
◾As the area expanded to cater to a diverse range of customer needs, the facility managers needed a way to accurately track visitor numbers and movement.
◾This was crucial to understanding customer behavior and improving operational efficiency across the sprawling complex.
The Solution
◾In 2018, Showa Aircraft Urban Development Co., Ltd. installed the customer counting system throughout Mori Town and Mori Park Outdoor Village to gather accurate foot traffic data.
◾The system, equipped with sensors both indoors and outdoors, provided accurate counts of customers entering and moving around the facility.
◾The system offered critical insights such as visitor entry points, time spent in key areas, and traffic patterns across various sections of the complex.
The Result
◾The data gathered by the system revealed that Mori Park sees over 15 million visitors annually.This information allowed the facility to measure the success of campaigns and events by tracking increases in dwell time and visitor flow.
◾Additionally, the data on hourly foot traffic from nearby station provided strong leverage for marketing and leasing decisions.
◾With these insights, Mori Park is able to continuously refine its marketing strategies and tenant mix to cater to customer needs effectively.
